EDITORIAL DESIGN
Memphis Law Magazine ‘26
The Memphis Law Magazine is a key recruiting tool for the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, designed to showcase both the people and culture that define the program. This was my second publication as the creative strategist for the University of Memphis, and it allowed me to expand my editorial design skills while working within the University’s refreshed brand guidelines.
The creative direction leans on strong photography and narrative-driven storytelling to humanize the program and make the school feel accessible and real to prospective students.
I explored intentional ways to carry forward the creativity of the Law School’s previous publications while evolving the look and feel to align with the broader University brand—finding the balance between consistency and character.
Typography, white space, and pacing are used to support long-form stories, with pull quotes and layout shifts creating visual rhythm without pulling focus from the content. Every design decision is made with recruitment in mind: helping readers see themselves in the stories, the classrooms, and the community.
